Robert De Smiley face - Pencil and Acrylic Paint

If university has taught me anything, its that i have spent way to much time taking myself way to seriously, so when facing the query of how to finish a portrait that has taken hours and hours to only half complete i arrived at this very simple conclusion. I present my latest piece 'Robert De Smiley Face'

Ed Sheeran - Ink & Pencil Drawing (SOLD!!!)

Now i have been told that i can be a little negative about my drawings but
im not entirely satisfied with this one, i made a little mistake with Ed's right eye,

Bain - Ink and Pencil (SOLD!!!)

After doing the scavenge project i felt a somewhat strong need to do something
with a bit more order and structure, after all I usually draw with intent, not sculpt
with disregard. So i thought id try a new technique with this, instead of trying
to spend hours scrubbing away with a pencil to create a black,
i used Indian ink. This gave me much stronger blacks, and therefore a much
better contrast between dark and light, and therefore a much more realistic
looking portrait. I hope you guys like it .

Flames Self Portrait - Photoshop

Another little experiment in photoshop, using filtering and blending techniques i created this burning embers and flames type portrait.

Retro Comic Book Self Portait - More photoshop practice

This was a good experiment for me, I've always enjoyed the comic book / Andy Warhol style prints and canvases. I think this would be good for a propaganda, graphic design type project.

Colour Portrait Study

This is a colour portrait study i did at home using acrylic. I concentrated mostly on the face so the other areas are a bit sketchy, i was only aiming to replicate facial features and skin tones so the rest didnt matter much to me. let me know what you think.

Graphic Design - FREE Booklet

This is what my photos finally ended up as, the book is made from white snowden paper, and the pictures were all hand stitched in, and high quality printed photographs.

Carnforth Train Station - Competition Winner

This was a piece i did as part of a competition to have my work featured at Carnforth Train Station, this piece was selected to promote the company, Trans Pennine Express. I made it by overlaying an image of a train on top of itself in reverse, and then did the same and put the two together. This was originally done physically, but remastered in photoshop for better quality. This work, and the work of other competition winners can be found here : http://www.leedslancastermorecambecrp.co.uk/gallery/carnforth-art-work

Free - Installation

This is a part of the same college graphic design brief, i did this prior to the hand. Just in case you cant see it very well, it spells the word free. It is made from string, and took about 4 hours from start to finish.

Free

This is a piece of work i have done for college, its a graphic design brief based around typography. For my brief i thought i would explore freedom, i am trying to show that freedom is not simple, and that there is a journey to freedom. As you can see the hand starts out tightly bound with the letters bound into it, the hand slowly unfolds, extends out, then string becomes loose and is cut, and then the hand and letters are free.
