Robert De Smiley face - Pencil and Acrylic Paint

If university has taught me anything, its that i have spent way to much time taking myself way to seriously, so when facing the query of how to finish a portrait that has taken hours and hours to only half complete i arrived at this very simple conclusion. I present my latest piece 'Robert De Smiley Face'

Josh Franceschi YMAS - Ink & Pencil Drawing (SOLD!!!)

This is the singer from You Me At Six, this is actually the first drawing ive done
from commission which is why i forgot to post it, as soon as it was finished it was

Ed Sheeran - Ink & Pencil Drawing (SOLD!!!)

Now i have been told that i can be a little negative about my drawings but
im not entirely satisfied with this one, i made a little mistake with Ed's right eye,
its very obvious to me but the girl who bought it still loved it.

Bain - Ink and Pencil (SOLD!!!)

After doing the scavenge project i felt a somewhat strong need to do something
with a bit more order and structure, after all I usually draw with intent, not sculpt
with disregard. So i thought id try a new technique with this, instead of trying
to spend hours scrubbing away with a pencil to create a black,
i used Indian ink. This gave me much stronger blacks, and therefore a much
better contrast between dark and light, and therefore a much more realistic
looking portrait. I hope you guys like it .

Scavenge - The Fox Was Here

This is the end result of my first university project (top image).
The task was to go about Nottingham and scavenge objects we found interesting,
and then to scavenge written materials like magazines and newspapers,
and after that to scavenge from a library, searching books and collecting words based
on a certain rule. To find my words i took the reference number from each book, for example,
378170281. I then broke the number down to find a word, or series of words from the book.
So the 37th page, the 8th paragraph, and then the 17th, 2nd, 8th and 1st word of
this paragraph.

After constructing the colourful fountain from magazines (bottom picture), i combined all the
words i found in the library to make a poem, which was then stuck onto the fountain.
We were then told to assemble all our work into and exhibition in our studio
space, so this is a collection of our groups work. After assembling this piece
we decided it was too neat, too pretty and too typical of a collection, and the
only logical step to making it original was to remove order from the equation
and destroy the assembly.

Flames Self Portrait - Photoshop

Another little experiment in photoshop, using filtering and blending techniques i created this burning embers and flames type portrait.

Retro Comic Book Self Portait - More photoshop practice

This was a good experiment for me, I've always enjoyed the comic book / Andy Warhol style prints and canvases. I think this would be good for a propaganda, graphic design type project.

Abstract Self Portrait - Practicing Photoshop

As an artist photoshop can have many applications, from simple touch ups to prepare for a painting,
or to create a completely new image. I've been following a few tutorials just to practice my photoshop skills,
and this is something ive come up with.
